This project requires that a create office space be designed for Toyz Inc. employees which reflects traits of a youthful toy design and manufacturing company. The structure will be a part of ETSU’s innovation campus in the research park in Johnson City, TN.

The challenge is to work with an irregular floor plan to provide a creative environment. One main goal is to create a successful “virtual business card” on how to make one’s life better through stable careers, economic development, and research. 

The business stands behind creativity, innovation, risk-taking, high-quality details and the exuberance of children. They work collaboratively, so the space must provide numerous opportunities for discussion and impromptu meetings.

Concept: A Wave of Spontaneity-Embracing Youthful Exuberance. Children are the focus of the company, and to create things that children love requires an atmosphere that supports that goal. A wave is symbolic of the spirit and imagination of a child. Part of this means having a spontaneous, wild-like imagination. Rather than using orderly straight lines, an ever-changing wave more accurately reflects the face of the company, where innovation is constantly moving into successful ideas.
